Within each of us is a dreamer and creative who is weaving together their life moments into a story and journey of significance. In 2022, the inspiration of the James Webb spectroscopic data and my professional goals filled my head with the stars. This digital collage combines the creative portraiture of the artist, the artist’s photographed fabrics illuminated by colored-led lights, and 3D elements over a female astronaut’s photograph. Rainbow baby’s breath flowers and glitter abstract shapes emanate from the astronaut’s pink-hued afro-like hair while blue flowers grace her temples. The artwork, Space Dreams, calls for creatives, especially womxn, to connect their own dots and journey past the bounds of gravity. The horizon of space’s opportunity means changing the perception of the realm of possibilities.

Space Dreams is my form of inclusive representation for the dreamers who imagine exploring the galaxies and stars above.
